Babu gave me a real fright last night. I was a bit late home from work and I found him in a bad way. He snapped at me when I went near him and he was biting everything he could reach. He refused to eat anything. He was also shaking and twitching and his movements were uncoordinated. It was too late to get to the vets that evening so I planned to go the following morning. However when I picked Babu up I found that he was very cold. I snuggled him into some towels wrapped round a hot water bottle. Eventually he started to act more normally. I kept him warn overnight and this morning he was his old self again. The weather has just turned really cold after a mild spell. Babu doesn’t have Ambaa to keep him warm and as he can’t move much or curl up like an able bodied rat he was just unable to stay warm. Babu will stay on the water bottle treatment until this very cold weather is over.
