Ambaa and Jaali are still living in separate houses. They have had a few more introduction session in the divided pen and Jaali has become a lot more confident. He doesn’t squeak and run away anymore. He still seems a bit unsure but he stands his ground when they are sniffing each other through the wire.

Their houses are not tight next to each other all the time so that they get used to each other’s smell. They have been getting quite interested in each other and they will sniff each other though the bars of their houses.

Because they seemed to be interested in each other they were let out together in the bathroom – a neutral place which neither of them have been in before. Jaali was the first out of his box and was quick to start exploring. Ambaa stayed in her box but the lid was off. They sniffed each other though the slats in Ambaa’s box a couple of times.

Just as Ambaa was deciding to climb out of her box Jaali jumped on the open lid and nearly tipped Ambaa’s box over with her in it. This frightened her a bit so they had to go home to their separate houses.

Pouched rat available to good home

Could anyone give a good home to a Aja, a three year old female pouched rat?

Aja’s owner contacted me because since her mate died Aja has been lonely. She needs a home with other pouched rats and lots of space to move around and play.

Contact me if you think you could give Aja a home and I’ll pass your details on.
