As the new year is about to start Kukurikas weight
has finally returned to where it was before the diarrhea started. By 30 December
she weighed 284g which is the same as her weight on 17 November. In those five
or so weeks her weight dropped to 212g. Her development is far behind where it
should be. Her weight should be at least 500g. The diarrhea has improved but her
poo still isnt anything like normal.

Unfortunately, as her weight improved a new problem has developed. Kuku
cant lift her head. It came on gradually over three days and she now
permanently holds her head with her nose pointing directly downwards rather than
forwards. It isnt clear if this problem is linked to her existing
condition or if it is as a result of an injury. The initial treatment of a
steroid injection didnt improve her neck, although it did improve her poos
which became almost normal for a few days. She has now had a second injection of
a non-steroid anti-inflammatory. This should help if there is an injury. She has
also started a course of vitamin supplements in case the problem is related to
her restricted diet.
